I am here in Indiana today! There are no Beads of Courage member hospitals in this state, but we support many children and teens coping with serious illness here. Through Beads in the Mail, we send beads right to their doorstep. I had lots of fun meeting Beads of Courage member Broc and his brother Mark today!
Broc has been receiving beads since he was six years old. Broc told me
that his beads remind him of all the many things that he has done, and how
strong he still is! He even told me that his favorite beads are “the bumpy ones
because I have to be brave for them.”

Broc and his brother Mark are super close. Mark is part of the Sibling Program, another Beads of Courage program. The Sibling Program has 25 beads that symbolize the sibling's journey alongside that of their brother or sister in treatment. Broc collects his beads during his medical journey through our Chronic and Cardiac programs, and Mark can receive his beads through the Sibling Program!
