I made it to Tennessee today! Did you know that we are in 5 different member hospitals? We are in Children's Hospital at Erlanger, East Tennessee Children's Hospital, Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center, Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, and Niswonger Children's Hospital!
The main campus of the University of Tennessee is located in Knoxville, and so is one of our member hospitals: East Tennessee Children's Hospital. A few members of the football team heard about a rival team that carried beads and knew that they needed to carry beads as well! In November 2014, the University of Tennessee football team participated in the Carry a Bead program! The football team, spirit squad, and their mascot Smokey all wore beads! Over 200 supporters wore the special University of Tennessee Carry a Beads created by Diana Rast. Players from the football team gave their carried beads to Beads of Courage members at the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital!
The University of Tennessee Makes Courage Roar with every Carry a Bead they wear to support our members coping with serious illnesses! You can also support Beads of Courage by participating and funding the mission of the 9th Annual Bead Challenge!
Courage Tiger’s 2017 Road Trip is a feature of the 9th Annual Bead Challenge, a three-month nationwide fundraiser and beadraiser for Beads of Courage. As the official Beads of Courage mascot, Courage Tiger is visiting all 50 states to highlight the incredible work our organization does by sharing stories of our courageous members, families, clinicians, and the caring community of artists and supporters who make our vital work possible. Please get involved in Bead Challenge 2017 by visiting www.beadchallenge.org today. Sign up to PARTICIPATE as a fundraiser, CREATE glass beads, or DONATE to the cause. With your help, we can Make Courage Roar for kids coping with serious illness! Many thanks to Bead Challenge 2017 presenting sponsor Northwestern Mutual and supporting sponsor Soda Lime Times.
